It has been 20 years ago when the New Order of Druids introduced the Upgraded Membership, On October 17, 2006. This was introduced to generate essential funds to cover the expenses of our website and other important facilities. Back then we set the membership fee to € 29.95 per year (or € 49.95 per two years). All these years, we have never changed the prices of our membership fees.
Unfortunately, we have seen a constant increase in our expenses over the years, with frequently increasing prices for the server, software, security, insurance, administration and other essential costs. This has left us no choice but to decide to increase the prices of our membership fees for the first time in 20 years.
We have opted to keep the price increase to a minimum, to keep it affordable for any member who wishes to upgrade. Our new prices will be € 34.95 per year, or € 59.95 per two years. These price changes will start taking effect on November 1, 2026. The family member discount prices for people living at the same address will no longer be available as of November 1, because the membership package with membership card and introduction booklet is now by default available online instead.
For this price, you will still continue to get the same benefits of an upgraded membership:
- Digital NOD membership card
- Access to standard courses and specialisation courses with mentor
- Access to the Advanced Placement Exam and printed course completion certificate
- Access to extra services and library on our website
- For each upgraded membership and per year, one tree is planted through the international Plant A Tree initiative
We would like to point out that:
- Our free membership continues to exist as always, without any changes. If you're a free member now, you can continue to do so, and new members in the future can still join as a free member with the same services as before.
- If you are already an upgraded member, your upgrade will continue normally as always until the expiration date, and you won't need to do anything else or pay extra for that, even if the expiration date falls after November 1, 2026.
- Only if you upgrade your account on November 1, 2026 or later, will the new prices of the membership fee apply. If you upgrade your account before November 1, you can still do so at the old membership fees. If you are already upgraded and you choose to renew your upgrade before your current one is expired, you are able to do so in the same way, and your current remaining time will be autimatically counted up together with the new membership duration, so that you don't loose any days of your upgraded membership duration.
Please understand that income of your and other membership fees is essential for us to continue offering you the services the New Order of Druids currently has available. We receive no government subsidies and must therefore rely completely on the income of membership fees, and the sales of our services, books and other items. Whether you upgrade now at the old prices, or in November or later at the new prices, your membership fee is always helpful and essential in supporting the New Order of Druids.
