My Account and Membership

If you experience problems logging in, it may be because of different reasons. The most common reasons and their solutions are listed below:

1. Do you have an account yet on our website? If not, you can create one for free by clicking here.

2. Did you activate your account after joining our website? When you registered your account, you received an e-mail with an activation link. If you haven't clicked on it yet, you should do so as soon as possible. If you lost that e-mail, a new activation link will be sent to you when you try to log in again. If you didn't receive the activation e-mail, check your spambox. If you misspelled your e-mail address in the registration form, the activation e-mail also won't be able to reach you. 

3. Have you spelled your username (or e-mail address) and password correctly? Keep in mind that both username and password are case sensitive. If your password is e.g. "Password" with capital P, it will not accept "password" with lowercase p. 

4. If you don't remember your username and/or password, click the "Forgot login?" link below the login fields. An e-mail will be sent to you with further instructions on how to recover your account. If you don't receive an e-mail after an hour, check your spambox.

5. Does your username contain a space in it? The system no longer allows this, so please click here for further instructions.

If none of the above provide a solution to your login problem, please contact us.

On the top menu, go to "Home" and then to "Join us!". 

The next page you see will explain the differences between a free and upgraded membership. You do not have to make this choice yet until after you are registered. By default, your account will be a free one and you will not be charged anything, nor will we ask you for bank account information. If you wish, you can upgrade your account at any time later on, and if you don't want to renew your upgrade subscription, your account will automatically revert to a free one. If you choose for a free account, it will remain free indefinitely.

To become a member, you need to fill out the registration form and submit it. Then, you will be sent an e-mail with an "activation link", on which you need to click to activate your account. Once you have done this, you can login on the website. An intro tour will help you set up your account and profile further.

To change your password, take the following steps:

1. Go to "My Account" and then to "Account Settings".

2. In the tab "Private", enter your new password in the fields "password" and "verify password".

3. Click "update" to save your changes.

If the system gives you an error, it may be because there is another field you are yet to fill out. Check in the different tabs to see if all required fields are filled out.

To change the email address associated with your account, take the following steps:

1. Go to "My Account" and then to "Account Settings".

2. In the tab "Private", enter your new email address in the e-mail address field.

3. Click "update" to save your changes. If you need to confirm the change, you will receive an e-mail with further instructions shortly.

The username is that which you login with (along with your password). Once you have registered it, you are unable to change it afterwards. 

Your real name is the field where you put in your actual full and real name. Don't worry, this will not be visible to other members. 

Your Display Name, however, is the name that you will appear as for yourself and other members. It can be the same as your username, but doesn't have to be. You can change it as many times as you like. Unlike your username, your Display Name can contain spaces and special characters.

For technical reasons, the system of our website no longer allows any spaces or special characters in usernames since August 1, 2018. However, some members who registered before that date may still have spaces and/or special characters in their username. If that is the case with your username, it may be the reason why you have trouble logging in or access some parts of the website.

It is not possible to change your username yourself. If your username contains spaces and/or special characters, we can change it manually for you. Please contact us and provide us with your information, such as your e-mail address and your current username. Please also specify what you want us to change your old username into. For example, the username "User Name" can be changed into "UserName". Only letters (uppercase and lowercase) and numbers are allowed.

Please do note that your "username" is not the same as your "display name". The display name is what is visible to other members on the website, it can be anything you want (including spaces and special characters) and you can change it as many times as you want. Your username is only used for logging into your account.

When you become a member at our website, you have by default a free membership. This membership gives you access to many parts of our website, including your profile, the forums, and several free online courses. There is no time limit on your free membership: it remains free indefinitely.

You can, at any time you wish, decide to upgrade your account and receive access to additional services. These additional services are, for example, access to courses with mentor guidance, and access to specialisation courses. You can also download our Celtic e-zine (not only the latest edition, but all editions ever published), and you can access additional parts of our "Celtic Library".

You can upgrade your account for a duration of either 1 year or 2 years. At the end of that period, you have the choice to either renew your upgrade or to let it expire. You can renew your upgrade as many times as you want. If you don't renew your upgrade, your account will revert back to a free account, which will them remain active as free account indefinitely. Of course, you can always upgrade at a later time again if you wish.

If you enrolled into a (specialisation) course with mentor during your upgrade, you can continue this course even if you haven't completed it yet when your upgraded membership expires.

The prices of our upgraded membership depend on whether you upgrade for one or two years. We also provide family discount prices. The different options and prices can be found by clicking here.

Our prices are displayed in EUR. Prices in other currencies, such as USD (American Dollar), GBP (British Pound), CAD (Canadian Dollar), AUD (Australian Dollar) and others, depend on the exchange rate of the moment the payment is made. If you want to upgrade your account, go to "My Account" and then to "Upgrade my Account".

The next page will show you an overview of the services offered with an upgraded membership, the various available upgrade plans and their prices, and instructions on how it works. Once you have selected your preferred upgrade plan, you can choose to pay online with Paypal or to pay manually with bank transfer. 

If you choose to pay online, the system will automatically send you to the Paypal website. If you have a Paypal account, you need to login in order to complete the transaction. If you don't have a Paypal account, you can still make your payment without having to create an account there, and in that case you will have to enter your credit card information. The transaction is securely handled by Paypal, and no credit card or other bank information will be sent to us directly. Once the payment is processed, your account will be immediately and automatically upgraded.

If you choose to pay by bank transfer, you will be given instructions on how to make the payment, including our IBAN bank account number. Please note that your account will not be immediately and automatically upgraded. The upgrade will be activated when we have received your payment, and the upgrade duration will start counting as of the day we activate your upgrade.

At this time, we do not accept other forms of payment for upgraded membership.

Once your upgrade is activated, you need to make sure you log out of the website and log back in again, for the upgrade to take effect.

We strive to keep the membership fees as low as possible, so that they are affordable for most people. For that reason, it is not possible to offer additional discounts based on e.g. one's income. We do, however, offer other discount possibilities:

1. We provide a "familly discount" to members who are part of the same family and live at the same address (e.g. spouse, children). The first member pays the full amount, and any additional family member can then upgrade at the family discount price. Abuse of this service (e.g. false pretenses of family members) will result in the termination of the upgrade without refund. More information about this discount can be found by going to "My Wall" then "Upgrade My Account", and then at the bottom of the page.

2. We offer free upgraded memberships to members who offer a service in return. Such a service includes becoming a mentor in the online Druid college, or a regular contributor to our Celtic e-zine. Of course, there are requirements in order to become a mentor or contributor, and admittance is done by our approval only.

No, it is not possible to get a refund when you have upgraded your account. The reason for this is that your upgrade comes with additional services, to which you have immediately access as soon as your upgrade is activated. These services include access to the download section of our Celtic e-zine, as well as access to our courses with mentor, including the specialisation courses. After your upgraded membership expires, you are of course not obligated to renew it, and you will automatically be reverted back to a free account.

In compliance with the European GDPR-regulation, you have the right to access and download an overview of the information about you we have stored on our server, such as your profile information. You can access this download at any time as follows:

1. You need to log in to the website first. 

2. Go to "My Account", then to "Account Settings" and then to "My Personal Data Overview".

3.On this page, you will already find an overview of the information about you we have stored on our server. 

4. At the bottom of the page, click "Save this page" to download or print the overview.

In compliance with the European GDPR-regulation, you have the right to have your account and information removed from our website and server. In order to make sure that your personal information is properly protected, and only removed on your own explicit request, we ask that you follow our deletion procedure:

1. In order to have your account deleted, you need to log in to the website first. 

2. Go to "My Account" (top menu), then to "Account Settings" and then to "Delete My Account". 

3. Please read the information and instructions on this page carefully, then go to "My Personal Data Overview" (link on that page).

4. At the bottom of this page, click "Request manual deletion", and follow further instructions. You will be sent an e-mail with a link you need to click on, to confirm your deletion request.

If you have followed this procedure correctly, and clicked the confirmation link you received in an e-mail, you will be receive one final email in which we confirm that your data has been removed from our server.
